BUKOM BANKU PRAYS FOR HIS SON ‘AMBITIOUS TILAPIA’ TO BECOME A WORLD CHAMPION – KA Sports Boxing

Ghanaian boxing legend Braimah  Kamoko  popularly known as Bukom Banku could not hide his joy as he watched his son, Abu Kamoko, also known as Ambitious Tilapia deliver a thunderous first-round knockout victory over  the weekend. The victory sparked emotional celebrations ringside and reinforced a bold declaration from the proud father, his son is destined to become a world champion. This he said at the 1957 fight night put together by SP sport promotions and PKO boxing promotions in collaborations with T2 bar and Grill on independence night in Koforidua.

Bukom Banku, was in a jubilant mood from the moment he escorted his son to the ring. In typical Banku fashion, he turned the ring walk into a mini-concert, performing one of his hit songs as he danced his way to the ring with Abu beside him. The crowd roared in approval as father and son soaked in the electric atmosphere before the fight.

Moments later, the celebration intensified. Abu “ Ambitious Tilapia” Kamoko needed just one round to finish the job, flattening his opponent, Abraham Okine with a decisive knockout. Bukom Banku leapt in excitement, embracing his son and shouting words of praise while supporters cheered wildly.

“…you will be world champion,” he said with trademark conviction. “ …im blessing you – come down,  father and son, in the name of  Jesus Christ, father bless my children to be a world champion…”

Bukom Banku also weighed in on the growing buzz around the so-called “Freezy challenge,” saying it is welcome and part of the excitement surrounding his son’s rising career. According to him, Abu Kamoko is ready to face any challenger who believes they have what it takes.

However, the night nearly took a dramatic turn earlier when tensions flared between Abu Kamoko and another boxer, Prince Kamaldeen. The two reportedly engaged in a heated confrontation that almost escalated into a physical altercation. Tilapia storms the ring after Kamaldeen has won his fight with Richard Ashong, also on a technical knockout, to challenge him.

Fortunately, police officers and security personnel acted swiftly, stepping in to separate the two fighters before the situation spiraled out of control. Abu Kamoko versis Prince Kamaldeen is scheduled for 10th April 2026 at the Bukom Boxing arena as both fighters await a contract to make it official.

SP Sports Promotion and PKO Boxing Promotions, in collaboration with T2 Bar and Grill in Koforidua, presented boxing lovers with the 1957 Boxing Night, an event poised to go down in history as one of the most memorable boxing shows ever staged in Koforidua.
