WORLD BOXING ADDS NINE NATIONS – KA Sports Boxing

World Boxing has welcomed nine new nations into its fold, marking a significant expansion of its global presence in the sport. During a recent meeting, the Executive Board gave the green light to applications from boxing federations in Belarus, Cyprus, Mozambique, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Tanzania, Tonga, and Zambia. This decision represents another milestone for the organization as it continues to broaden its influence and reach.

With these new additions, World Boxing now boasts a total of 168 national federations. This includes 123 full members, one associate member, and 44 endorsed members, showcasing the sport’s growing appeal across various continents.

But these newly admitted federations didn’t just stroll in; they had to navigate a rigorous vetting process to demonstrate their commitment to transparency and strong governance. This involved having open and fair election systems, recognized anti-doping measures that align with global standards, and clear, independent structures for managing disputes and appeals.
