Battle of the Torch IV: Ghana Boxing President backs Tournament for Global Exposure – KA Sports Boxing

The President of the Ghana Boxing Federation, Dauda Fuseini has thrown his full support behind the upcoming Battle of the Torch IV tournament in the united State of America, describing it as a valuable opportunity for the country’s rising boxers to gain exposure and sharpen their skills.

Speaking in an interview with KA Sports Boxing, Fuseini explained that the collaboration will allow Ghanaian fighters to test themselves against opponents with different styles and techniques. According to him, this kind of experience is crucial for their growth, as it helps them adapt, learn, and improve inside the ring.

“I strongly believe that this collaboration will give Ghanaian boxers exposure and they will also learn so much from it.  They will get the opportunity to spar and fight with different boxers and different technique and style, and they going to learn so much from it. I believe it is very important they embark on this tournament to learn more,”  he remarked.

He also pointed out that while not every talented boxer makes it into the national team, the Black Bombers, there are still several international platforms such as bilateral competitions and world championships where Ghana needs strong representation. For that reason, developing a wider pool of fighters remains a top priority. The Federation president believes tournaments like Battle of the Torch IV tournament play a key role in preparing these athletes for future opportunities. With the right exposure and experience, he is confident that even those outside the core national team can step up when called upon and proudly represent Ghana on the global stage.

“Not everybody can be included in the national team but then we also have other bilateral champions like the world championship and other things which we still need boxers to go and represent Ghana in all those tournament. So those will be going even though they are not the core team of the national team, Black Bombers, they are also being prepared for other international tournament like the bilateral games and the world championship as well. So this is an opportunity for them to also get the exposure so that when they are given the chance to represent Ghana they will go there and do their best,” he said, emphasizing a vision of inclusivity and ongoing talent development.

The Battle of the Torch tournament is an exciting display of amateur boxing, with up-and-coming talents from Ghana and the United States set to clash in Lafayette, Louisiana on July 25th and 26th, 2026, at the Martin Luther King Recreation Center. This two-day event promises a thrilling mix of intensity, national pride, and a sneak peek into the future of the sport.

Brock Promotions and B2GB Boxing, in partnership with the Ghana Boxing Federation and USA Boxing, is putting on this tournament, showcasing a growing commitment to strengthen the sporting relationship between the two countries. Ghana, known for producing top-notch fighters, will be eager to prove its worth against a disciplined and competitive American team.
